This series of murals is called “California Dream’in” and was painted by artists Randy “Relic” Legaspi and Alex “Axis” Ventura. These murals were commissioned by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs for installation at the Pedlow Skateboard Park in Encino, California in the San Fernando Valley. Painted with spray paint on large sheets of aluminum, these works were installed at the City of LA skateboard park after they were painted.

Axis painted the characters and Relic painted the lettering. The murals are meant to be inspirational to the two types of skateboarding featured at this park, including pool skating and more street style skating. The lettering is meant to give the local skaters pride of place, while recognizing that the San Fernando Valley and this park are part of the City of Los Angles proper. The murals are protected by an extremely tough permanent clear coat, as well as a sacrificial wax, anti-vandalism clear coat.
